Areas of Personal Interest

I love to explore Australia with the challenge
of having all my technology toys with me.
TV Nerd
I love the content, the technology and the role TV plays in societal communication and learning.
Apple Fan
Since around 1980 I've been an Apple fan. It all started out helping my friend build an Apple ][ kit, then selling Apple ]['s and had various roles in the early days of the personal computer industry here in Australia. Since the days of the Lisa I've appreciated the difference that a well-honed user interface can make for people using technology. Today, I'm excited by the iPhone and how wireless, touch-based information and media systems are coming together.
Web Guy
In the dotcom era my wife and I developed LinkAlarm, an online service for large-scale link verification. I like to see what new tricks old browsers can be taught these days.

In 2001 I was the Roving Ambassador for the Internet Industry Association.
My son and I went on a fantastic Tech Trek.

I like large antennae.
Whether used for astronomy or moving television
around the planet, dishes are real-life steampunk
technology for me.
